Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your driver-guide will collect you from Nairobi and transfer you through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After a two-hour rest, set out at 3 PM for your first afternoon game drive. Return to lodge by 6:30 PM for dinner and overnight.

You’ll have the chance to stroll the camp grounds before dinner, spotting resident warthogs and vervet monkeys, then enjoy a sundowner on the viewing deck as you listen to the distant roar of lions under the African sky.

Day 2

Full day in the Masai Mara

Rise at 6 AM for an early game drive when predators are most active, then return for breakfast. With a packed lunch in hand, spend the rest of the day exploring different Mara sectors. Visit a Maasai village for a guided cultural walk and learn beadwork traditions. Optional hot-air balloon rides depart at dawn (extra cost). Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Between drives you can relax at the lodge’s infinity pool overlooking the plains or join a guided bush-breakfast beneath an acacia tree, listening to plains game grazing nearby.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

After an early-morning drive or leisure breakfast, depart the Mara for Nairobi, marking the end of your unforgettable safari.

Before you leave camp, take a final walk to the riverbank to watch hippos wallow in the cool waters and capture last-minute photos of grazing giraffes against the sunrise.

Overview

Each guest’s stay helps to contribute to various conservation and community projects. This conservancy adds a huge plus factor due to the privacy and minimal vehicle traffic within it. You can easily access the Maasai Mara Reserve, but the game in the conservation area is just as excellent. Leopard are regularly spotted passing through the camp and lions can often be heard in the distance.

Stroll along walkways that wind their way through the forest between the tented suites that are built on high stilts offering you stunning views onto the Ntiakitiak Riverr or across the Mara plains. Each suite has deep canvas canopied ceilings, rough-hewn wood floors and accents of East Africa’s rich safari history. Expect thick Lamu wood doors, deep purples, and brass accents. Angama Mara

Overview

Towering high on the Rift Valley’s Oloololo Escarpment with direct and private access to the Mara Triangle, this lodge’s name was inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’.
